Sapir Malka, a student from the Binyamin region of Israel wins the 2009 International Bible Quiz. He beat 46 contestants from all around the world to take this year’s championship. Read the full news article in the Jerusalem Post. A new Bible study has been added to thebiblestudy.co.uk In this 4 part series on Can Christians Speak with Tongues by David Willey, he looks at the use of tongues in the time of the apostles and whether the spirit gift is available to us now in the 21st century. Tony Blair only recently converted to Catholicism and he’s already telling the Pope how to modernise the Roman Catholic faith! What Blair doesn’t realise is that God’s word doesn’t change, and it’s foolish to think we can adapt the message of God to today’s society. It is as relevant now as it was 2000 years ago, but we find it hard to swallow some of it because we live in a world entrenched in human rights and discrimination laws. We don’t like to face up to the truths so we try to change them to be more to our liking and be more like the world around us – which is the exact opposite of what God intended. It seems that Blair is intent on continuing to leave a path of destruction wherever he goes. It’s my opinion that religion and politics don’t mix, but that hasn’t stopped the British National Party from exploiting the name of Christ in search of supporters. Their advertising campaign asks “What would Jesus do?“, and then supplies the answer “Vote BNP”. It’s shocking that they would use the name of Jesus to pursue their worldly ambitions, and of course Jesus wouldn’t vote anyway as his allegiance is entirely to God and not the political groups of this world. Yes – we’ve been busy this last week! Another new Bible quiz for you testing your knowledge about that wise man Solomon. |
